Easy Pizza Toast in 10 Minutes

Pizza toasts are so easy and delicious - a very simple alternative to an actual pizza when you can't order out or have the energy to make pizza from scratch.

I made this pizza toast for brunch or should I say dinner, after I woke up at 2pm today. I had been thinking about making a tomato toast or a pizza toast for breakfast for some time now because I had been craving some tomato on toasted bread with a drizzle of olive oil; more like a good Italian bruschetta. However, I also wanted a lot of cheese to go with it so I finally made this bread pizza.

This pizza toast recipe is super simple and easy to follow. It is very flexible in terms of what all you can top it with. Since it's a pizza toastie, you can pick and choose what to add on as the toppings. I went with tomatoes, onions, and chicken today.

Ingredients for Pizza Toast Recipe:

  • 2 Bread slices
  • 2 tbsp Pizza Sauce or Marinara Sauce
  • Black Pepper as per taste
  • Salt as per taste
  • Garlic Powder as per taste
  • Oregano as per taste
  • Italian Seasoning as per taste
  • Red Chilli Flakes as per taste
  • 1/2 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese (may decrease the amount)
  • 1/4 Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Julienned Onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped Pre-Cooked Chicken
  • Olive oil to drizzle
  • Fresh Parsley/ Basil Leaves

Pizza Toast Recipe:

  • Preheat your oven to 400F/ 200C. Lightly toast the bread slices for 2-3 minutes.
  • After toasting the bread slices, drizzle some olive oil, spread the marinara sauce, and then add the spices- salt, pepper, oregano and, garlic powder as per taste on the top of each slice. Add tomatoes, onions, and chicken. Top off with mozzarella cheese.
  • Add chilli flakes and Italian seasoning on top. Bake for 12- 15 minutes or until the cheese melts and has a nice golden colour.  Drizzle some olive oil on the top. Add chopped basil leaves or parsley to add some colour and flavour. Serve hot & enjoy!
